2024 Greenhouse Technical Workshops

We want the greenhouse sector in Ontario to flourish, so that's why we hosted technical workshops for our customers to highlight ways they could increase the efficiency of their greenhouse operations.

One of those workshops took place in Leamington, where Enbridge Gas Energy Solutions Advisors showcased how greenhouse growers could lower their monthly energy costs and maximize profits.

Natural gas plays a crucial role in the greenhouse sector. It's used to provide heat and supplies the necessary carbon dioxide (CO2) for the growth of plants. The greenhouse industry is an important one and provides approximately 14,500 jobs in southwestern Ontario.

Limited-time bonus incentives for greenhouses

To qualify for incentives, all projects, including assessments, must be pre-approved by Enbridge Gas before they are started.

Retrofit and new construction projects

Up to $0.10/m3 natural gas saved, up to $250,000. Submit pre-qualified project by Nov. 1, 2024.

Bonus: 2x the incentive on retrofit projects only‡

Up to $0.20/m3 natural gas saved, up to $250,000. Submit pre-qualified project by July 1, 2024.

Incentives for energy assessments, studies and meters

Up to 50 percent of costs. Submit pre-qualified assessment by Nov. 1, 2024.

* HST is not applicable and will not be added to incentive payments. Terms and conditions apply. Incentives are based on the estimated annual natural gas savings associated with a project. Standard incentives are not to exceed 50 percent of the incremental project cost. Bonus incentives are not to exceed 75 percent of the incremental project cost. Incentives are only made available to customers where Enbridge Gas energy efficiency offer(s) have impacted the customer’s decision to proceed with the improvement(s). Programs are subject to change or cancellation without notice at any time.
